India and China have had their sixth round of talks to resolve the Ladakh crisis, with a diplomat from the Ministry of External Affairs attending the military-level dialogue for the first time since the two foreign ministers met in Moscow on September 10. ThePrint's National & Strategic Affairs editor Jyoti Malhotra argues in her column, Global Print, that there are 4 options in front of both countries to resolve the crisis : China should withdraw and return the LAC to status quo ante, both countries could descend into a hot, shooting war, both nations should accept each other's transgressions and PM Modi should play the diplomatic card by refusing to attend the SCO & BRICS summits later this year and shaming China.
